Happy Thanksgiving, Black Friday and the Porch

Got some horrible news from a lifelong friend on Wednesday that I was thinking would set the whole mood for this long Holiday weekend.  Thankfully we worked everything out and our friendship is intact.  Stupid shoe business and stupid mole.

So, shoe debacle put behind us, we had a wonderful Holiday.  DH got the concrete poured for the new deck.  It looks nice.  He’s no professional cement layer, but he did a good enough job and it was hard work and he got some concrete burns from the fiberglass in the cement.  OUCH!!  I’m thankful for our new deck.

We drove down to v-Town for Thankgsiving.  Grandma had rented out her clubhouse and had dinner catered and everyone brought something.  I made homemade pumpkin pies (4 of them for 21 people) and YUM they came out so so good!!  The children were all so well behaved and pigged out on olives, beets and crackers before dinner was even served.   After dinner, my mom and I took all the kids swimming.  They loved it and Ella loved getting thrown in by Uncle Bobby :)   Casey caught some serious air when her daddy threw her in.  She’s 5 now and such a daredevil.  Ronin finally let someone other than me or daddy snuggle up to him.  He gave Aunt Lori some much appreciated attention, and let her baby him.  He also let me mom swim with him in the pool.  It was nice and by keeping the children occupied, I didn’t have to participate in the clean-up.  Lucky me ;)

We got home about 8pm and put the kids right to bed.  They were so exhausted from a day with no naps, (they didn’t even sleep in the car, crazy huh??)  and went right to bed.  Dh and I were sleeping by 10pm.  We got up around 8am, had breakfast, checked out the porch and then went out for Black Friday.  We   went to our local Wal-Mart and scooped up a deal on a Kodak digital camera with 10X zoom and 7.1 megapixel.  It’s awesome.  I love it.  Early Christmas to me.

Then we went to Lowes and bought more cement, and a live Norfolk Pine and 2 Pointsettas and we decoratedthe mantle only.  Haley and I did it and we hung up the stockings too.  Everything looks so pretty.

So here we are; Saturday afternoon.  Babies are napping, Haley is TV watching, Dh is porch watching, and I’m alternating between blogging and writing my last 12 book reviews :)

I love school.  But I’m looking forward to the month long break too :)   December 11th can’t get here fast enough.
